Listen. Usually I’m super excited for the 15th of every month because I get to share what we sent with Fabric for Pirates. BUT….the 15th of this particular month means I only have ten days until Christmas and I need to get my shit together. So basically I’m here and excited about fabric. But also know that I’m slowly dying inside because my Christmas checklist seems to be growing at an exponential rate. EEEEEEE.

Okay let’s forget about my troubles and talk cute fabric!

This month, we listened to what our subscribers + former subscribers requested (via a survey we sent out) and chose both a fabric base they wanted AND also gave them a cute print! I had no idea DBP would be something our subscribers would want us to send, and I’ve been avoiding it specifically because of that….but I’m glad I asked because here we are. Hopefully everyone adores it like I do!

I love that the print totally can give off some Christmas/holiday vibes but it doesn’t have to. Like, if you wanted to make a holiday outfit with it…you totally can. But if you don’t celebrate the holidays or aren’t into making / wearing things like that, it’s just a really pretty plaid.

This fabric type is one that’s super versatile and can be used for about a million of the patterns that are in the Patterns for Pirates library. I chose to do a Ruched Top + Dress because I happened to be wearing this pink one as I was staring at the fabric, trying to decide what to make, and it just felt right.

I made a top length, because your girl is not exactly a crop top wearer…but I am shifting more toward shorter length tops as the days go by. The top length hits at a super sweet spot and I’m a big fan. I’m also a big fan of the ties on the side. They’re such a simple little addition but it creates such a cute look.
