I am playing catch-up, slowly but surely, with the Fabric for Pirates reveals that I missed out on! One down, one more to go. Woo! So yes, this “reveal” for the monthly fabric that we sent out is delayed….by two months. But I’m doing my best over here.
In December, we shipped one of my ::favorite:: prints to everyone! Buffalo plaid in a classic red + black colorway will always hold a place in my heart, and my closet, and also in Bennett and Louis’ closets. Classics are classic for a reason.

I actually made a couple of things for myself out of this fabric. This is the only one I have managed (and probably will manage) to take a photo of. As a person who claims she doesn’t really like wearing layers, there was something that told me I needed to make a Grandpa Cardi for myself. That “something” is probably the cold as ice weather we’ve been experiencing around here. I work remotely and am on a computer all day long, so anything that can be wrapped around me while I’m trying to stay warm is high on my list right now.

I was going to pull out my old faithful All Buttoned Up cardigan pattern, but opted for a looser fit this time. I think it went well with the plaid. I also didn’t add any buttons or buttonholes along the placket because I didn’t think I’d ever be wearing this closed. I tend to keep all of my cardis open and free flowing. And if I can skip sewing on buttons and adding buttonhones, I’m going to do just that.
Of course, as an mega lover of mixing prints, I thought this plaid was super cute with my Basic Tee from forever ago, in a black + white stripe. What do you think?

Before I go, I obvs need to give you fabric details. So here we are:
