Hey-o! I’m back for a second week of Watcha Wearin January! Thanks to Tibeca from Sewing by Ti for hosting this fun tour. You can check out what I wore last week HERE, if you’re curious. And without wasting any more time, let’s get down to talking about what I wore all week!
Jan 8: If you saw me on Sunday, I was wearing a super loose fitting tee in a print that I never thought I’d like to wear. It’s a Made for Mermaids Mama Ava, with a dramatic high/low cut and a curved edge. It’s one that I made during testing for this particular shirt…so you can see more modeled photos and get links to my fabric if you’re curious HERE.
My bottoms are, again, just a skinny jean. I wear jeans most days…I feel like 99% of the women I know live in leggings and have sworn off jeans. But I’m quite the opposite. To each her own, am I right?
Jan 9: Apparently this week is going to the Mermaids! Or at least that’s how it’s starting! I chose to wear this M4M Mama Mya in a sweater knit I found in the red tag section at JoAnn fabrics. Not my favorite fabric for feel, but it is cute…so I put up with it.
My pants are the P4P SOS pants. You’re going to see these babies a lot. Sorry, not sorry. As quickly as they can get washed, they get worn again. They’re so comfy! If you didn’t look before, I have more details from when I made these pants for a tour HERE.
Jan 10: Two days in a row I’m wearing Mama Myas in sweater knits. Whoops! But you can see how differently they look with the different fabrics…so it’s not all bad, right?
This is a pretty open weave sweater knit from JoAnn fabrics. I love it, but it’s one of those fabrics that grows as you wear it. Fresh out of the dryer, it’s a lot shorter than when you’ve worn it for a day. Considering the fact that our heat was off when we woke up this morning, a sweater knit was a necessity.
Jan 11: I LOVE this shirt. So much. I made it back in July for the 4th and I’ve continued to wear it for every season. You don’t just need a holiday to be patriotic, you know!
This is a Patterns for Pirates Slimfit Raglan with a wider neckline than the pattern calls for. Wider necks are an easy as pie adjustment! Alex even shared how to do one on the P4P Blog, if you want to know how to open it up for your own sewing.
If you haven’t noticed yet, I tend to roll all of my long sleeves up. So I really like to make 3/4 length shirts because my sleeves will end up there anyway. Does anyone else do this?
Jan 12: Okay….so maybe I’m getting a little out of control with my addiction to sweater knits and Mama Myas. I’m sorry! It can’t be helped! I promise to try and focus anything I make from now on, on different patterns. So I can mix up my closet a little, haha.
This shirt is one of my favorites, I find it in rotation all of the time with what I’m wearing. This is one of the pieces from the Sew What Tour, and you can find more info on it HERE.
Jan 13: Um. So I’m officially the most boring person on this tour, hahaha. Seriously. Here’s another Slimfit Raglan from Patterns for Pirates. I can’t help it! I love mixing fabrics and raglans are best for it.
I made this shirt right before Christmas because I thought the reds were festive enough to be worn as a “holiday shirt” but it’s not full of red and green and reindeer, so I could wear it well beyond that. Good plan, right?
Jan 14: You guys should be so proud of me today. Not only is this a different pattern than I’ve worn in January so far…but it’s also one that I’ve never used before! This is the Boyfriend Vneck by Patterns for Pirates. In a DELICIOUS brushed poly from Sly Fox Fabrics. Oh my gosh, I’m dying over this. Normally, I wouldn’t choose to wear a white based fabric, it’s just so pretty that I couldn’t help myself. EEP!!
