Purple. Halloween. Lace. Fabric from Vintage Lace.
These are a few of my favorite things.
It has been a hot minute since I’ve made the Layer Me Up shirt from Patterns for Pirates. Probably since right around when it first came out. Let’s just say that I was a little more svelte back then and my desire for clothes that weren’t skin tight had me sway from that pattern a bit. But for some reason, I really thought a form fitting top would be great with this gorgeous lace print from Vintage Lace, so I went for it.
SO GLAD I DID. It’s actually helping me realize that the exercise/butt kicking I’ve been giving myself since school started back for Louis is helping. Or maybe the fabric is magic. Either way, I’ll take it.
I had a little bit of stretch lace left over from another project and thought it would be a fun detail to add to this top. I simply took the back bodice piece and cut it to be a lower scoop, but made sure it would still be above my bra line. And then I calculated a new binding measurement for myself, attached it….then sewed the lace on after it was all said and done.
Bingo bango. Stretch lace, with a lace print, from Vintage Lace. Lace on lace on lace. Love it.
This print is going up for a retail sale starting 9/20. There are other colorways of Halloween laces and each of them are GORGEOUS. Plus, they have a ton of other fall and Halloween fabrics available. But you’ll need fast fingers, because their retail fabrics go quick!
