Izzy’s Floral Lace by Vintage Lace Prints (And Henley Week!)

Jan 18, 2018

Remember this ah-mazing purple lace that I sewed up back in September?  Well….the same ladies who brought you that gorgeous print is bringing another drool-worthy lace.  And I’m head over heels that they let me play with the purple colorway again.

Because purple is the best color ever and if you think differently I will probably fight you.

Over at Patterns for Pirates this week, we are having a Henley Sew-Along, and I thought it would be the perfect timing to create a new henley top for myself.  Well, “henley”.  Same pattern, but I left the placket off.  AND, I used the free shoulder piece pattern that we featured on Day 2 of the sew-along.  Fun right?  I love that you can take a pattern and change it to your liking.

Since this is a strikeoff and we tend to get a yard or less of fabric, I didn’t have enough to create long sleeves for myself.  BUT, I did have enough of this coordinating fabric to steal the sleeve flounce from the M4M Mama Catherine and give myself a cute little dramatic drape.  It extended the sleeve enough that it didn’t feel like I was wearing short sleeves in the dead of winter.  It totally works, right?

I seriously am in love with this print!  It’s perfectly timed for Valentines Day and spring and I’m thinking it’s going to get a lot of wear from me!  How can I resist purple and sassy sleeves?  Haha.

Vintage Lace has this print on a pre-order from now until the end of the month!  Be there or be square, my friends.  And make sure to check out the rest of the gorgeous designs that they have available right now.  You’re going to want one of everything!
