Dress Yourself with Patterns for Pirates!

Jul 31, 2018

I’d like to first start by saying that I have incredible friends who are willing to embark on weird ideas with me.  So when I say “do you guys want to take photos in dresses I made, in a pretend garden party setting in my yard?”, they always answer with a yes.  And that’s pretty freaking cool.  The extra fun part of this is that these are the same eight girls that agreed to showcase the Peg Legs pattern during our 50K Fan release, a little over a year ago.  They’re like official models now, you guys.
We are on the brink of releasing our final summer pattern over at Patterns for Pirates.  And if you’ve followed Judy’s instagram, you know that it’s a summer dress and it’s adorable!  I had this idea to showcase as many of P4P’s current dress patterns as I could….leading up to the new release.  I took to my pattern arsenal and matched the dress style to the girl, the fabric type to the patterns, and the fabric prints to each girl’s personal style (while still coordinating the set as a whole).  WHEW.  It was a lot of brain power and planning.  But I love the end results! I’d also like to give a MAJOR shoutout to all of the small businesses that sponsored each of the dresses.  The fabric/sewing community has been so fun to be a part of and I love each and every one of these shops.  The fabric quality and selection are always superb, but the customer service is what makes it above and beyond shopping at big suppliers.  Thank you ladies for all that you do!
And just for fun and to show off my gorgeous gal pals,  here’s a whole slew of images from our shoot:

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
